We are delivering major projects to achieve economic development outcomes for Queensland.
We work collaboratively with stakeholders from industry, state, and local government to deliver major projects that achieve economic development outcomes for Queensland.
This work includes:
- the delivery of Integrated Resort Developments; Global Tourism Hubs; and other government supported initiatives and
- working with stakeholders to progress multi-year development projects from concept to operation.
Our major projects
These major projects are developed and facilitated by the Tourism Development Projects Division (TDPD) who are a specialised work unit achieving economic development outcomes through the delivery of Integrated Resort Developments, Global Tourism Hubs, ecotourism opportunities and other initiatives supported by Government.
TDPD has well established networks with industry, state government agencies, traditional owners and local governments. The team works collaboratively with stakeholders and departmental colleagues to progress multi-year development projects from concept to operation.
Global Tourism Hubs
Global Tourism Hubs are an integrated strategy for Queensland that incentivises the private sector to support the delivery of the government’s policy objectives.
Integrated Resort Developments
Integrated Resort Developments (IRD) are high quality, mixed-use destination aimed at providing tourism, leisure and entertainment facilities that appeal to as broad a demographic as possible, including the international market.
Queensland Ecotourism Trails
Queensland Ecotourism Trails are ecologically sustainable opportunities aimed at delivering environmental, social and economic benefits to Traditional Owners, regional communities and to Queensland.
