Hazelwood Estate

Project overview

This project was provided $1.8 million through the Attracting Tourism Fund, aimed at new tourism attractions, experiences and aviation services to generate increased economic activity, jobs and overnight visitors.

The new elements of this project complement the existing Hazelwood Estate, which is a 30-hectare polo and wagyu cattle farm in Upper Beechmont, on the edge of the World Heritage listed Lamington National Park.

The new accommodation, including three luxury pavilions and 16 eco-friendly farm cabins, enable up to 40 guests to stay in addition to the existing Homestead and Guest House accommodation which can sleep 12 guests.

The luxury estate also offers The Paddock restaurant and cocktail bar, a day spa, nature-based activities and a truly authentic paddock-to-plate offering through its Wagyu Cellar Door. For those looking to hold an event, retreat or product launch, the Tack Room overlooking the polo field is the perfect space.

Completed in late-2021, the project is expected to bring more than 18,000 additional visitors to the area annually by 2025 and drive nearly $4.5 million into the economy.
